Songscape: Green River with Liz Beebe

Music Inspired by our Public Lands

liz beebe songscape green river

Liz Beebe will explore the Green River, floating along National Forest, Bureau of Land Management, National Wildlife Refuge and National Monument lands, as she creates a song inspired by these critical spaces. Liz is joined by actress Kelsey Gunn and photographer/TikToker Becca Murray.

How will the river shape her songwriting?

Join us on an adventure when the song and music video, shot by National Geographic videographer Corey Robinson, come out later this year.

Proceeds support Sustain and your public lands.

Liz beebe

Liz Beebe (you can call her Beebe) is debuting her widely anticipated solo album in 2021 after spending 8 years traveling the world as the co-lead singer of popular American roots band, Dustbowl Revival. Born of New England roots but shaped by her years in SoCal, Beebe is equal parts grounding and lifting in her music. Motivated by the power of collective consciousness and empathy, Beebe's emotionally-driven vocals can soothe your troubles or elevate your mood - coming through the speaker as a friend for all occasions.

Green River

This Songscape begins floating from Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area (US Forest Service), through John Jarvis Ranch (Bureau of Land Management) over to Brown’s Park National Wildlife Refuge (US Fish & Wildlife Service). From there, we’re heading down to Dinosaur National Monument (National Park Service) to explore how the Green River connects these habitats and communities.

The Green River is a major tributary of the Colorado River and has a rich history of indigenous sites, outlaw hideouts, exploration and conservation history.

The Songscape Project

Songscapes generate new fans for public lands. Over 1/3 of the US belongs to everyone, yet these public lands are at risk of being sold off and de-funded, threatening the wildlife, natural systems, and people that depend on them. By partnering musicians with public lands, Songscapes utilize the emotional hook of music, beautiful music videos, and the cultural capital of bands to create new audiences for the places we all own and need to protect.

Liz Beebe will spend nearly a week floating through multiple public lands and then hiking throughout Dinosaur National Monument. National Geographic videographer, Corey Robinson, will be capturing everything on film. She will create a song inspired by the experience, and Robinson will turn it all into an incredible music video. We’ll work with our partners to get the project out in front of as many people as possible! Song proceeds help support public lands.
